SHANGLA: A dengue affected 10-year-old child died at Shagi Banda, in Maira area of Bisham tehsil here on Monday, the child was detected with dengue a week ago, while the number of dengue positive cases soared to 295 in Bisham.
The victim’s father, Sultan Sham claimed that he had taken his son 10 year old Nazif, to tehsil headquarters hospital Bisham where doctor advised him for NS1 test, but in the hospital laboratory, they asked him to go Abottabad for the test.
He alleged that his son was not properly diagnosed on time due to the doctors negligence, however spokesperson in the health department Shangla for dengue campaign, Kamal Zada did not confirm the case, says the victim test results would have checked whether he was detected with dengue or not.
Mr Zada, said, that the number of dengue positive case has been surged to 295 since August 31, while preventive measures are being taken to control the dengue.
Deputy Commissioner, Shangla, Imran Hussain Ranjha, told this scribe that the case is under investigation and not confirmed by the health department but the area is badly hit by the dengue where the child died.
He, however, said that health department in the district is working on awareness, Lady health workers are visiting houses for awareness and finding the larvacidal in water tanks and other domestic use pots, meant to prevent the spread of the disease.
He said, fumigation spray is being sprayed and medicines provided to the patients in the government hospitals, while isolation wards are established in the hospitals.
He said, they are working on to control the outbreak and utilizing the available resources.
