15-20 Afghan Taliban Killed as Pakistani Forces Repel Coordinated Attacks in Spin Boldak Border Clash: ISPR

Pakistani security forces successfully repelled coordinated attacks by Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij militants along the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan’s Spin Boldak area on October 15, 2025, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported. The assault, described as unprovoked, included heavy firing and physical incursions, prompting a decisive counter-response that inflicted heavy casualties on the attackers. ISPR confirmed 15-20 Afghan Taliban fighters were killed, with many more injured, while the situation remains fluid amid reports of further militant build-up at staging points.
This incident escalates ongoing tensions, following deadly skirmishes earlier in the week that claimed 23 Pakistani troops and over 200 Taliban-affiliated terrorists in Kurram and other sectors. The Afghan Taliban reportedly destroyed the Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate on their side, undermining cross-border trade and tribal easements. Islamabad accuses Kabul of harboring Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, fueling a surge in attacks that have killed over 2,400 in Pakistan this year. Border crossings like Chaman and Torkham remain shuttered, disrupting vital commerce. Analysts warn of potential wider conflict, with Qatar and Saudi Arabia urging restraint. Social media reflects divided sentiments, with Pakistani users hailing the forces’ valor and calls for diplomatic intervention growing louder.
