Kurram DC injured in firing on Govt’s vehicles

PESHAWAR: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Javedullah Mehsood was injured in the firing on a convoy of government vehicles in Bagan Bazaar of Kurram district on Saturday.

The incident happened when the first convoy left after many days to restore the movement of people between Kurram.

When the convoy left and reached Irfan Kali in Alizai tehsil, the convoy was fired upon, in which DC Kurram Javedullah and a security official were reported to have been injured.

The DC has been shifted to the Alizai government hospital in an injured condition.

Due to the incident of firing on the Deputy Commissioner in Lower Kurram the departure of the first convoy to Kurram was stopped.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Advisor Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif says that a firing incident took place in Bagan area of ​​Lower Kurram, due to the situation the first convoy has been stopped for now.

Barrister Saif said that Deputy Commissioner Kurram Javedullah Mehsood, who was injured in the firing, is being transported by helicopter. The condition of Deputy Commissioner Kurram, injured in the firing in Bagan, is out of danger.

He said that the police and government officials are present , the firing was done by miscreants, and the investigation has been started.
