PM Shehbaz Sharif meets UAE President to strengthen bilateral ties

RAHIM YAR KHAN: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a significant meeting on Sunday with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, to discuss matters of mutual interest and strengthen ties between the two nations.

Both leaders emphasized their shared commitment to enhancing economic, political, and cultural relations. The discussions included a variety of key issues such as economic cooperation, regional stability, climate change, and increasing mutual influence on the global stage.

Prime Minister Sharif commended the UAE’s leadership and its crucial role as a partner in Pakistan’s development and investment sectors. He highlighted Pakistan’s eagerness to expand cooperation in renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed the UAE’s interest in further collaboration with Pakistan, especially in the areas of mining, minerals, and agriculture.

He acknowledged Pakistan’s impressive economic progress and the stabilization of its economy under Prime Minister Sharif’s leadership, believing it has opened up opportunities for greater bilateral investment.

Both leaders also underscored the importance of people-to-people connections and mutual prosperity, with Sheikh Mohammed reiterating the UAE’s commitment to Pakistan. He expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s ongoing partnership, particularly in humanitarian and developmental assistance.
