Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced a new gas supply schedule for its domestic consumers, effective from January 2025.
The revised schedule guarantees an uninterrupted gas supply from 6 am to 10 pm daily, a significant change from the previous arrangement, which had divided supply into three time slots: 6 am to 9 am, 11 am to 2 pm, and 6 pm to 10 pm.
SNGPL officials explained that the decision to implement a continuous supply was based on increased gas availability, ensuring a more reliable service.
The company confirmed that this move is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance service quality and address long-standing issues with gas shortages and inconsistent supply.
In addition to the new schedule, SNGPL has ramped up its campaign against illegal gas connection
In the past month, the company disconnected 136 unauthorized connections in key regions, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, resulting in fines exceeding Rs 9 million.
In South Punjab, areas like Multan, Sahiwal, and Bahawalpur saw a significant number of illegal connections removed, with fines totaling Rs 90,000.
In central Punjab regions, including Lahore and Faisalabad, 55 illegal connections were severed, leading to penalties of Rs 3.75 million.
