Mohsin Naqvi meets USA cricket CEO to discuss bilateral series

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, met with Johnathan Atkeison, CEO of USA Cricket, in Washington to explore opportunities for promoting cricket in both nations. The meeting also included Pakistan Super League (PSL) CEO Salman Naseer.

Key discussions centered on organizing a bilateral cricket series, a promising step toward boosting cricket’s popularity in the United States. Naqvi assured Atkeison of PCB’s full support, including training opportunities for American coaches in Pakistan.
To strengthen this collaboration, Naqvi extended an invitation to Atkeison to visit Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The invitation was warmly received, with Atkeison expressing gratitude.
Champions Trophy 2025 Highlights
The ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled from February 19 to March 9, 2025, featuring eight teams across 15 matches.
Host Venues: Matches will be played in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi in Pakistan, with select games in Dubai.
Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh.
Group B: Afghanistan, South Africa, England, and Australia.
The tournament opener will see Pakistan face New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. A highly anticipated Pakistan-India clash is set for February 23 in Dubai.
Pakistan will host 10 matches, including the final, while Dubai will stage four games, including all of India’s group-stage matches and the first semi-final.
This collaboration between PCB and USA Cricket, coupled with the Champions Trophy excitement, marks a significant step in cricket’s global expansion.
