On April 25, 2025, an Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jet inadvertently dropped a non-explosive external fuel tank onto a residential property in Pichhore, Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. when the tank fell on the home of Manoj Sagar, a local schoolteacher. Two rooms were completely destroyed, and debris damaged a nearby parked car. Fortunately, all four family members present at the time—including Sagar, his wife, and their children—escaped unharmed.

Eyewitnesses reported a loud explosion and the formation of an 8- to 10-foot-deep crater in the courtyard. The shockwave was felt in neighboring homes. Police and administrative teams quickly secured the area. The IAF confirmed the object was a “non-explosive aerial store” and expressed regret for the damage. An official inquiry has been launched, and compensation for the property damage will be provided through the designated mechanism.
