The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has indefinitely postponed the remaining matches of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) X due to escalating military tensions with India. This decision follows incidents along the Line of Control (LoC), including drone incursions and missile exchanges, which have raised significant security concerns.
Initially, the PCB had planned to relocate the final eight matches to the United Arab Emirates to ensure player safety. However, after an Indian drone reportedly fell inside Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium shortly before a scheduled match, the PCB, acting on the advice of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, decided to suspend the tournament indefinitely.
The PCB emphasized the importance of prioritizing national security and the well-being of players, acknowledging the concerns of foreign players and their families.
This suspension comes as the PSL was nearing its conclusion, with teams like Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United leading the points table.
The PCB has not provided a timeline for resuming the tournament, stating that the decision will depend on the evolving security situation
