SHANGLA: Local residents of Kana tehsil have complained that the contractor of Shahpur-Damorai road is being used sub-standard material in the road construction.
They told reporters here on Sunday that contractor was severally asked to use standard and quality material in the road project execution but he did not bother.
Iftikhar Alam, a local said that it was a million worth project but using of river bound stone rather than crushed stone which is not included in the project material.
He said if quality material were not used in the road construction the road will not be durable, hence concerned authorities should take action against the contractor and ensure use of quality material in the road construction.
Subhanullah, another resident said that on one hand the road project had been delayed on the other using of substandard material in it is a clear corruption which should be stopped.
The locals warned the government and construction and works department to take action against the contractor and ensure quality work otherwise they would come onto streets for staging agitation against the responsible authorities.
