SHANGLA: Local police have received safety kits to keep themselves safe from coronavirus as suspected cases are being emerged in the district and surrounding areas.
The safety kits distribution ceremony was held at District Police officer’s office at Alpuri here on Monday. SDPO Head Quarters, District Police Spokesman Umer Rehman and other police officals were present on the occasion.
While giving briefing to media persons, DPO Malik Ihjaz said for the first time police department has priorities-ed its force’s safety combating against the deadly ailment in the field for the sake of public lives by providing the police with safety kits.
Police head said that in the first phase, kits among 1,000 police personnel were distributed. He said that more kits would be distributed among policemen in the next phase.
He said that the kit was consisting of gown suit, surgical gloves, gas mask, disposable mask, sanitiser and long shoes. The kits were given away to the heads of 11 police stations and checkposts.
The kits were given away among personals of all 11 police stations and as well as in check posts.
In reply to a question, DPO said that they haven’t any fund issue but at this crucial time police has to be saved the public lives while protecting themselves too.
“Police will not compromise with any violator who violates the section 144 and lockdown but to deal with legal action in the larger interest of human being life protection as the COVID-19 can disseminate rapidly due to the public gatherings” The Shangla police head, said.
He claimed that they had registered around 40 FIRs for violating section 144 which had been imposed in the district for last two weeks.
DPO on the occasion appealed the district local dwellers to keep themselves restricted to their houses and follow the rules of social distancing, besides keeping an eye on their children in view of stemming COVID-19.
