SHANGLA: district police officer Malak Ihjaz issued show-cause notices to 303 police personnel, including inspectors, sub-inspectors, constables and clerical staff for registering their wives as BISP beneficiaries.
A statement said among the beneficiaries were three inspectors, five sub-inspectors, seven assistant sub-inspectors, 27 head constables, 73 constables, 182 Special Police Force personnel, two clerical staff and four Class-IV workers of the department.
The statement said the police personnel had been asked to submit explanations within a week. They would face disciplinary action if their replies were not satisfactory. The statement said the BISP funds were meant for the poor people, and not for the policemen.
