SHANGLA: The residents of Opal union council of Chakesar tehsil have demanded of the government to reconstruct Ranyal-Opal and Karora-Opal roads as both roads lead to the populated area are in bad condition and causing troubles to commuters.
The local residents of Opal told reporters on Saturday that both roads were in bad condition and several traffic accidents occurred on them and many people lost lives.
Imad Ahmed Khan, a local said he daily used the Karora-Opal road which was in very bad condition and entirely rough due to which technical fault developed in his car.
He said the Ranyal-Opal road was first constructed manually by the local people in the 1970s and since then neither successive nor incumbent government heed to their roads for their widening and blacktopping and still in this era in 21 century they were suffering.
Khanay, a cab driver, said they had to change their cabs tyres after every two months due to bad condition of roads through which they daily transport passengers.
“On one hand the government is increasing fuel prices and on the other, we have to spend thousands of rupees in workshops on vehicle repairing daily because cars develop faults due to rough roads which condition deteriorate in rainfalls,” He lamented.
Murad Khan another local, said that Karora-Opal road was constructed by the PML-N KP existing president Amir Muqam in 2005 but still it was rough and narrow due to which traffic accidents happened on this.
He said they wanted at least one road reconstructed widened and blacktopped to overcome the commuters miseries.
