Alizeh Shah has taken to Instagram with a heartfelt plea, breaking her silence on the criticism and judgment she’s faced over the years. On Monday, she shared a raw message addressing the hate she’s been receivingparticularly in the name of religion.
“Lately, it feels like no matter what I do, someone finds a reason to be upset with me,” she wrote. “I stay quiet, I try to mind my own life, but still the judgment never stops. So many harsh words and most of them in the name of religion.”
The Ehde Wafa actor expressed confusion and sadness over how something as personal as faith is being weaponised online. “I don’t understand why faith, something so beautiful and personal, is being used to spread so much hate.”
She made it clear she wasn’t trying to argue or defend herself. “I never had the strength for that. All I know is that my connection with Allah is something I carry in my heart, in silence. I’m still learning. Still growing.”
The post ended with a plea: “Please, be gentle. Not everyone is as strong as they seem.”
On Tuesday, the actor followed up her original post with a more defiant message. “I didn’t let anyone touch me for a role. I didn’t fake relationships to stay relevant. I didn’t stay quiet when I was uncomfortable.”
Alizeh added, “And because of that, I’ve been pushed aside, judged, and overlooked. It breaks me. I’ve watched others rise while I stayed stuck. I’ve cried over it. I’ve questioned everything.”
But even with the pain, she reaffirmed her choice to stay true to herself. “I know I couldn’t live with myself if I had done what they did. Even if it means I lose.”
She ended with one ambiguous word: “Goodbye.”
