Balochistan govt issues show cause notices to 29 doctors, others

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has decided to take strict departmental action against the doctors, pharmacists and paramedical staff involved in illegal strike and forced closure of hospitals.
According to Provincial Health Minister Bakht Mohammad Kakar, show-cause notices have been issued to 29 doctors and pharmacists.
The show cause notices have been served to Dr Bihar Shah, Dr Kaleemullah, Dr Saboor Kakar, Dr Yasir Achakzai, Dr Hafeez Mandhokhail, and Pharmacist Rahmat Agha.
The government has taken an in-principle decision to suspend all doctors, pharmacists and paramedical staff involved in the closure of hospitals.
Balochistan Government spokesperson Shahid Rind said that they provincial authorities is considering writing a letter to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council(PMDC) to cancel the registration of doctors involved in forced closure of hospitals.
He said that the closure of public health medical services is worrisome and condemnable, and the government will not tolerate non-provision of basic medical facilities to the public under any circumstances.
