In response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent executive order banning transgender women from female sports categories—a policy he erroneously suggested would affect Khelif—the 25-year-old athlete clarified her stance. Khelif stated, “I am not transgender. This does not concern me, and it does not intimidate me.”
She emphasized her commitment to competing in Los Angeles, expressing her determination to secure a second Olympic gold medal.

Khelif’s journey has been marked by resilience. Prior to her Olympic triumph, she faced disqualification from the 2023 World Championships due to elevated testosterone levels. However, the International Olympic Committee later cleared her to compete in Paris, where she clinched the gold medal in the women’s 66kg boxing category.

Looking ahead, Khelif remains focused on her athletic goals. She expressed hope that the International Olympic Committee will continue to uphold principles of fairness and sportsmanship, ensuring that athletes like herself can compete without unwarranted scrutiny.

As the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics approach, Khelif’s determination serves as an inspiration, highlighting her commitment to excellence in the face of adversity.
