Eid ul-Adha 2025 holidays: Government of Kuwait has officially announced Eid ul Adha holidays from Thursday, June 5, to Monday, June 9 after the moon for Dhul Qida, the 11th month in the Islamic calendar, has been sighted.

Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al Sabah, the interior minister and acting prime minister of Kuwait, led a recent Cabinet meeting where the news was made.

All state agencies and public institutions will be closed for five days during the vacation.

However, the Cabinet has given these businesses the freedom to choose their own holiday schedules in an attempt to accommodate workplaces with “unconventional” operational needs.

This clause is intended to guarantee that industries with particular needs can enjoy the holiday without compromising their ability to provide necessary services.

Following the Eid celebrations, government workers will return to work on Tuesday, June 10.

On the evening of Friday, June 6, Eid al-Adha, also called the Festival of Sacrifice, will start and go until Tuesday, June 10.

The event honors the Prophet Ibrahim’s (Abraham’s) readiness to offer his son Isma’il (Ishmael) as a sacrifice in response to God’s instruction.

But before the sacrifice could happen, God stepped in and sent a ram to be offered in Isma’il’s place. This deed represents the kindness and devotion of God.
