On February 25, 2025, four Pakistani security personnel were martyred in a terrorist attack on a checkpoint in the Darweshta area of Spinwam tehsil, North Waziristan. The assault occurred early in the morning, leading to a heavy exchange of fire between the attackers and security forces. In addition to the four fatalities, two other security personnel sustained injuries and were airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Bannu. During the confrontation, three terrorists were also killed.
