In a commanding performance, the Mumbai Indians secured their fifth win of the IPL 2025 season by defeating the Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets on April 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. This victory marks Mumbai’s fourth consecutive win, propelling them to third place on the points table.

Batting first, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 143/8 in their 20 overs. The innings was marred by a top-order collapse, with Trent Boult’s incisive bowling claiming four wickets and Deepak Chahar adding two more to the tally. Heinrich Klaasen provided some resistance with a well-crafted 71, but the team’s efforts were hampered by an unusual incident involving Ishan Kishan, who walked off the field believing he was out, despite no appeal or umpire’s decision, leaving fans puzzled.

In response, Mumbai Indians chased down the target with ease, reaching 146/3 in just 15.4 overs. Rohit Sharma led the charge with a fluent 70 off 46 balls, including eight fours and three sixes. Suryakumar Yadav provided a swift finish with an unbeaten 40 from 19 deliveries, ensuring a comfortable victory for the team.

This win not only strengthens Mumbai’s position in the league but also highlights the team’s resurgence in form, with key players like Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav delivering impactful performances.
