According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachiites should brace themselves for rising temperatures in the upcoming days. The Met Office forecasts that the heat will be particularly intense over the next three to four days, with maximum temperatures ranging from 37 to 39°C. Daytime conditions are expected to be hot, though evening relief may come with sea breezes.
Currently, Karachi is experiencing a temperature of 32°C with gentle winds, while the humidity stands at 55%. The minimum temperature recorded in the city was 25.6°C.
Earlier, the PMD noted a shift in wind direction contributing to the city’s hot weather, with similar conditions expected throughout Sindh. A weather analyst emphasized the influence of north-westerly winds, resulting in lower humidity levels. Despite daytime temperatures potentially reaching 41°C, some relief is anticipated at night.
During this period, air quality is also likely to be affected.
