Following a highly publicized exchange between Liverpool’s manager and forward player last week, Jurgen Klopp provided an update on his relationship with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah during a pre-match press conference on Friday.

Addressing the media, Klopp emphasized the long-standing nature of their relationship, stating, “We have known each other for a very long time and we know how to deal with it, without any outside expectations.” He reassured reporters that the matter between them had been completely resolved, noting, “It’s no problem. If we didn’t know each other for that long, I’m not sure how we would deal with it. But we’ve known each other for that long and respect each other too much that it’s really no problem.”

The 56-year-old German manager emphasized that they have the right to handle such issues independently of external pressures. He stated, “So we are absolutely fine with it, that’s a long story.”

The incident between Salah and Klopp occurred during last Saturday’s match against West Ham at the London Stadium, where tensions rose during the 2-2 draw. While Salah did not disclose details of the argument at the time, he hinted at its intensity, saying, “If I speak, there will be fire.”

Regarding Salah’s absence from recent games, Klopp acknowledged, “In general, the best situation would be that everyone’s in the best possible place, we win the games, we score loads of goals and yes, then the situation probably would not have been exactly like that.”

Salah, who missed two of Liverpool’s last three matches, is set to return to action against Tottenham on Sunday.
