Three Pakistan Army major generals, including Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), have been elevated to the rank of lieutenant general, as reported by The News on Saturday.
The other two officers promoted to the rank of lieutenant general are Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain.
The Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, has appointed the newly promoted officers to their respective positions, although there has been no official announcement of the promotions.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry will continue to fulfill his current duties as DG ISPR, while Lieutenant General Omer Bukhari will now serve as Commander of 11 Corps in Peshawar, and Lieutenant General Hussain will assume the role of Chief of Logistics Services at GHQ.
Lieutenant General Bukhari, from the 84th Long Course, was honored with the Sword of Honour. On the other hand, Lieutenant General Hussain, hailing from Hunza, has been awarded the presidential gold medal.
Prior to their promotion as three-star generals, both were serving as Vice Chiefs of General Staff at GHQ.
