Most of Hezbollah’s military sites in southern Lebanon have been transferred to the control of the Lebanese Army. This development is part of the implementation of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah, which mandates that only the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and United Nations peacekeepers operate south of the Litani River.
According to sources close to Hezbollah, approximately 190 out of 265 military positions south of the Litani have been handed over to the Lebanese Army. The LAF has also begun taking control of some Hezbollah sites north of the Litani River.
This transfer aligns with the ceasefire’s stipulations, aiming to restore state authority over southern Lebanon and prevent future conflicts. The Lebanese government, supported by international partners, is working to ensure full implementation of the agreement.
