Inter-Services Public Relations Director General DG ISPR has reiterated that there is no space for war between Pakistan and India, stressing that any such conflict would have catastrophic consequences for the entire region.

Addressing a press conference, the military spokesperson said that Pakistan has acted with maturity and responsibility in the face of rising aggression between two nuclear-armed neighbors. “This was a conflict between two nuclear powers that could have affected 1.6 billion people in the region,” he stated.

He emphasized that those who desire war do so only for their personal interests. “Peace is in the best interest of both countries, and those who seek conflict aim to serve narrow agendas,” he said.

On the issue of Kashmir, the DG ISPR said that the dispute can only be resolved according to the UN Charter and the will of the Kashmiri people. “India continues to portray Kashmir as an internal issue, but it remains an internationally recognized dispute pending resolution at the United Nations,” he noted.

He highlighted that India’s unilateral constitutional changes and ongoing oppression in Kashmir do not alter the fact that it is a global issue. “Thousands of homes in Kashmir have been destroyed, and demographic changes are being forced,” he said, adding, “Kashmir is not India’s internal matter; it is a matter that concerns the international community.”

Indus Waters Treaty

Regarding the Indus Waters Treaty, he said Pakistan’s stance is clear and consistent, and there is no need for the armed forces to comment further on it.

Pakistan never initiated Ceasefire request

Responding to recent tensions, the DG ISPR clarified that Pakistan did not request a ceasefire — it was India that sought de-escalation. “We informed our friends and interlocutors that we would not engage in talks without a response,” he added.

Clarification on Indian pilot in Pakistan’s custody

“There is no Indian pilot in our custody,” he confirmed, refuting circulating rumors.

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan has not violated the Line of Control (LoC) and remains a peace-loving nation, but will respond to aggression. “We have responded and will continue to defend the nation with full readiness,” he said.

He also confirmed that Indian attacks caused some damage to infrastructure and aircraft, but the damage was minor, and the aircraft will soon be operational again.

“Our response reflects national unity,” the DG ISPR concluded, stating that tensions were managed through professional conduct. “Both Pakistan and Indian forces are professional militaries, and we exercised restraint to control escalation.”
