Increase in Fatalities: Terrorism-related deaths in Pakistan escalated by 45% in 2024, totaling 1,081 fatalities.
Rise in Attacks: The number of terrorist attacks more than doubled, increasing from 517 in 2023 to 1,099 in 2024.
TTP’s Escalation: The Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) emerged as one of the fastest-growing terrorist groups globally, responsible for 52% of terrorism-related deaths in Pakistan during 2024.
Regional Concentration: The provinces of Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa were the most affected, accounting for over 96% of terrorist attacks and deaths in the country.
The Sahel region remains the global epicenter of terrorism, with Burkina Faso ranking as the most impacted country, followed by Pakistan. Five of the ten countries most affected by terrorism are located in the Sahel.
