Pakistan to Host Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt for In-Depth Talks on Iran War: FO

slamabad: Pakistan will host the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Egypt in Islamabad on March 29-30 for high-level consultations on the ongoing war in the Middle East involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
According to the Pakistan Foreign Office, the meetings will take place at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, and Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty are expected to arrive in the capital on Sunday.
The FO stated that the four foreign ministers will hold “in-depth discussions on a range of issues, including efforts to de-escalate tensions in the region.” The visiting dignitaries are also scheduled to call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during their stay.
This quadrilateral meeting is seen as a continuation of earlier coordination efforts held in Riyadh earlier this month. Pakistani officials have been actively involved in back-channel diplomacy, relaying messages between Washington and Tehran, and have offered to host direct US-Iran talks if both sides agree.
The development highlights Pakistan’s growing role as a responsible mediator in the region amid rising concerns over the humanitarian and economic impact of the conflict, including volatility in global oil prices that directly affects Pakistan’s economy.
