Pakistan’s peace will be defended with decisive action, vows Gen Asim Munir

On Monday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Peshawar, where he met with political leaders from various parties in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to discuss ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security in the region.
During the meeting, General Munir emphasized that while adversaries might try to instill fear and instability, Pakistan’s security forces would stand firm and respond decisively to any attempt to disrupt the nation’s peace.
A statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) mentioned that General Munir was welcomed by the Corps Commander Peshawar upon arrival and was briefed about the current security situation, including ongoing counterterrorism operations against extremist groups like “Khawarij” and other threats.
The army chief praised the sacrifices and determination of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism, highlighting their significant success in weakening terrorist groups. He pointed out the elimination of key leaders and the dismantling of their networks, reinforcing the message that terrorism has no place in Pakistan.
