The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has strongly rejected reports suggesting that Pakistan had “surrendered” in its discussions with the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the Champions Trophy. The board labeled these claims as “nonsense.”
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, along with his delegation, recently returned from Dubai after holding meetings with the ICC and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Sources close to the PCB clarified that while discussions were held regarding the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, Pakistan’s position remains firm.
The PCB confirmed that it presented its conditions to both the ICC and BCCI, and is now awaiting their formal responses. The board stressed that if Pakistan had intended to back down, the ICC and BCCI would not have requested more time to respond.
