SHANGLA: The residents of Faiz Dara Damorai have demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to reconstruct the suspension bridge demolished to be reconstructed.
The residents of Faiz Dara told reporters here on Wednesday that due to absence of the suspension bridge they have forced to cross the Kana river by walking in deepwater of the river also take their children on their shoulders.
They said, they had appealed the elected representative severally to reconstruct the crucial bridge connecting Faiz Dara with the rest of Shangla over the Kana river but the requests fell on deaf ears.
Sanaullah, a local resident said, over 3000 population of the Faiz Dara village have been suffering from the absence of bridge over the river.
“We feel scared while walking in deepwater of the river, when it rains the water flow increased and forced us to stay inside the houses as we have not alternate option to be used to cross the river,” He regretted.
He said, around 150 students both girls and boys used the river to cross it due to the absence of suspension bridge only remains of the bridge exist at both side of the area.
Usman Ali Usman, another local said, walking in deep water river is a threat to school going students, therefore elected MPA and MNA should give heed to this side too to rebuild the bridge to overcome the local people miseries.
He claimed the area has been neglected by the elected representatives of all the parties and the absence of bridge for years is an example of their ignorance.
The local people demanded of the government to immediately rebuild the suspension wooden bridge over the Kana river at Faiz Dara and to avoid any untoward incident.
