Senior journalist Emanuel Sarfraz passes away

Senior journalist and General Secretary of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) Pakistan chapter, Emanuel Sarfraz, passed away due to cardiac arrest in the early hours of Monday.
Emanuel Sarfraz was a prominent figure in journalism, with a career spanning over three decades.
He most recently served as the General Secretary of YMCA Pakistan and was a life member of the Lahore Press Club, where he also served as a governing body member.
He held key editorial roles, including Editor Coordination and Magazine Editor at The Nation, and worked as a correspondent for Gulf News in Pakistan. Additionally, he was the founding editor of Academia Magazine.
Sarfraz’s professional achievements included being a recipient of the South Asia Journalism Fellowship (SAJP) and covering the 2018 U.S. Presidential Elections.
He is survived by his wife and two daughters, who will announce funeral arrangements in due course.
The Lahore Press Club expressed its condolences, with his colleagues from The Nation, Daily Times, Academia Magazine, and other media outlets mourning the loss of a respected journalist and mentor.
