Karachi — The Karachi Traffic Police have released a detailed traffic management plan for the 12 Rabi ul Awal processions scheduled across the city tomorrow (Saturday).
Eid Milad un Nabi (PBUH) is marked annually with religious zeal, and large processions are a central part of the celebrations. To ensure smooth traffic flow and security, senior police officials, including all SSPs, will personally oversee the processions in their respective districts.
Main Processions
Two major processions will set off from Memon Masjid in the afternoon:
The first will begin at 2:30 pm and end at Aram Bagh Masjid.
The central procession, led by Maulana Shah Abdul Haq Qadri, will leave at 3:00 pm and conclude at Nishtar Park.
During the processions, MA Jinnah Road will remain closed to all vehicles, except those with official stickers issued for participation.
Alternative Routes by District
District Central
Traffic from Nazimabad can take Lasbela Chowk via Nishtar Road toward Garden.
Vehicles from Liaquatabad may use Teen Hatti to Lasbela Chowk, then turn left toward Central Jail.
From Hassan Square to PPP Chowrangi, motorists may use Kashmir Road → Society Light Signal (Shahrah-e-Quaideen) → Jail Flyover → Teen Hatti → Nishtar Road (Lasbela Chowk).
No entry from Guru Mandir to Numaish.
District East
Traffic from Shahrah-e-Faisal to Numaish can use Shahrah-e-Quaideen (Noorani Kebab) → Society Light Signal → Kashmir Road.
Vehicles on Jamshed Road toward Guru Mandir may divert via Bahadur Yar Jang Road → Soldier Bazaar.
District South
From Garden Zoo to MA Jinnah Road, traffic will be diverted via Uncle Sarya → Gul Plaza or Coast Guard near Holy Family Hospital.
From Lucky Star to MA Jinnah Road (via Empress Market), vehicles will be diverted at Saddar Dawakhana toward PPP Chowrangi.
Traffic toward Burns Road will move from Abdullah Haroon Road → MR Kiyani Chowk.
No entry from MR Kiyani Chowk to Court Road (Kabootar Chowrangi); vehicles will be diverted from Arts Council (Strachan Road) → Pakistan Chowk.
From Shahrah-e-Liaquat to Burns Road, traffic will be diverted from Aram Bagh signal → Pakistan Chowk.
Additional Restrictions
All heavy and commercial vehicles will be banned from entering the city on 12 Rabi ul Awal.
Citizens are advised to use designated alternative routes to avoid congestion and delays.
