WhatsApp has introduced a new privacy feature that allows users to control who can see their profile photo, enhancing security and privacy. By default, your profile picture is visible to all your contacts, but with this update, you can customize the settings to suit your preferences.
Profile Photo Privacy Options
WhatsApp, owned by Meta, now offers four options for profile photo visibility:
Everyone – Visible to all users, including those not in your contacts.
My Contacts – Only saved contacts can see your profile picture.
My Contacts Except… – Lets you exclude specific contacts while allowing others to view your photo.
Nobody – Hides your profile picture from everyone for maximum privacy.
How to Change Your Profile Photo Privacy Settings
Open WhatsApp and tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
Go to Settings > Privacy.
Select Profile Photo.
Choose your preferred privacy option.
This update helps users protect their identity and personal information, reducing the risk of scams and misuse of profile photos. It is especially useful for those who wish to restrict unknown users from accessing their pictures.
With this new feature, WhatsApp continues to improve privacy protections, giving users more control over their personal data.
