ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Launches Probe into Leaked Image of Imran Khan

The Supreme Court administration initiated an investigation on Thursday following the release of an image of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), according to sources reported by Geo News.

The image was taken and leaked on social media while Khan appeared before a five-member bench via video link for a hearing on amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws.

The bench, comprised of Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Aminuddin Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Athar Minallah, and Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi, approved Khan’s plea to present his arguments himself. Khan, who is serving a sentence in Adiala Jail, appeared in court for the first time since his arrest last year in the Toshakhana reference case.

While previous proceedings of the case were broadcast live by the Supreme Court, today’s hearing was not. PTI leaders have urged the authorities to resume live broadcasting of the proceedings.

Sources indicated that the Supreme Court authorities have commenced investigations into the matter, with police instructed to take action against anyone found violating courtroom rules by leaking the image. Instructions were given to review CCTV footage to identify the individual who captured the image, and subsequently, the frame size of the video link was minimized.

During today’s hearing, the former premier appeared via video link, seated in a room, wearing a light-blue shirt with sleeves folded. The image released by the party showed Khan resting his face on his hand.
