SHANGLA: The deputy commissioner Shangla, Hamid Ur Rehman has said that 3.7 million saplings to be planted and 1.2 million would be distributed among the public across the district in spring tree plantation campaign.
The DC Shangla Hamid Ur Rehman was addressing launching ceremony of the spring tree plantation here on Wednesday at DC office in Alpuri. Divisional forest officer, Shangla, Faiz Ur Rehman, SDFO Zahid Hussain, AC Alpuri Wajid Ali and other officials of the line department were present on the occasion.
DC Shangla said that 3.7 million saplings of the different species would be planted across the district by the forest department under the 10 billion tree afforestation project.
He said 1.2 million plants would also be distributed among the public in this ongoing plantation drive to plant at their respective villages.
He said the plantation of tress in the district was one of the sustainable goals for reducing natural disasters in the district which was prone to the disasters and badly affected in the past.
The district Shangla admin urged the public to must take part in the spring tee plantation drive by giving hands to the government for green Pakistan.
DC Shangla on the occasion distributed saplings among the local people who had applied for the plants through a process made for the first time in the forest department for receiving saplings.
