PTI Announces Nationwide Protests Against Proposed Constitutional Amendment

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a series of nationwide protests in response to a proposed constitutional amendment that the party strongly opposes. PTI leaders have voiced concerns that the amendment could undermine democratic principles and limit the power of the people.

According to party officials, the protests are set to take place across major cities in the coming days, with large gatherings expected in Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad. PTI Chairman has called on supporters to join the movement, framing the protests as a crucial step to protect the country’s democratic integrity.

The proposed amendment, details of which are still emerging, has sparked significant controversy, with PTI arguing that it grants excessive power to certain political entities, while weakening the role of elected representatives. Party leaders claim that this change could negatively impact the balance of power in government and erode constitutional checks and balances.

In a statement, a senior PTI official said, “This amendment is a direct attack on the democratic rights of the people. We will not allow any law that weakens the voice of the public or undermines the principles of justice and equality.”

The protests come at a time of heightened political tension in Pakistan, with PTI aiming to rally its supporters and push back against what it sees as an unfair political maneuver. PTI’s call for nationwide demonstrations is expected to draw thousands, as the party seeks to build momentum in its opposition to the government.

The PTI has urged all citizens who believe in democracy to participate in the protests, pledging to continue the fight until the proposed constitutional amendment is withdrawn.
