PTI considering contact with IMF over “rigging” concerns; decries arrest of MNA, non-issuance of production orders by NA speaker.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is considering briefing the visiting International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation on alleged election rigging and the implications of the 26th Constitutional Amendment. Opposition Leader Omar Ayub stated that PTI intends to inform the IMF about these issues, highlighting concerns over governance and political stability.

In a related development, PTI has expressed strong disapproval of the recent arrest of its Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) and the National Assembly Speaker’s initial reluctance to issue production orders. Following protests and negotiations, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq eventually issued production orders for the detained PTI MNAs, allowing them to attend parliamentary sessions.
