Pakistan Army Chief Plays Key Role in US-Iran Peace Efforts

Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has become a central figure in diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran.

He recently visited Tehran with a new proposal from Washington for fresh talks in Islamabad.
Pakistani mediators, led by the Army Chief, are working hard to arrange the next round of US-Iran negotiations.
US President Donald Trump has praised Munir’s efforts and spoken with him by phone about easing tensions, including issues around the Strait of Hormuz blockade.
However, some reports suggest US officials have concerns about Munir’s past ties with Iranian leaders.

Pakistan is hosting these important talks while maintaining high security in Islamabad.
