Courtney Ford filed for divorce from her husband Brandon Routh.
Irreconcilable differences are the reason for the split.
The couple shares a 12-year-old son, Leo.
Actress Courtney Ford has filed for divorce from her husband, actor Brandon Routh, bringing an end to their 17-year marriage. The Dexter star cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Ford’s filing, submitted on Wednesday, did not specify the date of their separation. The couple shares a 12-year-old son, Leo, with Ford requesting joint legal and physical custody. Additionally, she has requested spousal support while asking the court to deny any such support to Routh.
The couple’s relationship began in 2004, with Routh proposing in 2006. They married the following year at El Capitan Ranch in Santa Barbara, embarking on a journey that lasted nearly two decades.
Routh rose to fame playing Superman in Superman Returns and has been a fan favorite in Legends of Tomorrow. Ford has made a name for herself with roles in popular series like True Blood, Parenthood, and Supernatural.
The divorce marks the conclusion of a long-standing Hollywood romance. Despite the personal upheaval, both Ford and Routh remain celebrated for their individual accomplishments in the entertainment industry. Neither has publicly commented on the divorce filing.
