Newly elected US President Donald Trump will take the oath of office today at the 60th inaugural ceremony, scheduled to be held on January 20 at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. He will take the oath by placing his hand on two Bibles.
Foreign ministers from Japan, India, and Australia will attend Trump’s inauguration ceremony, while China will be represented by its vice president. Pakistan will be represented by its ambassador to the U.S., Rizwan Saeed Sheikh.
Additionally, several Pakistani political figures, including Bilawal Bhutto, along with many Pakistani-Americans, will also attend the event.
On this occasion, Donald Trump will use his personal Bible, which was gifted to him by his mother in 1955 during his Sunday Church primary school graduation in New York.
This edition of the Bible was published by Thomson & Sons, with Trump’s name and the date of presentation engraved on the lower part of the book.
The second Bible to be used in the inauguration ceremony is the Lincoln Bible, which was first used during the inauguration of the 16th U.S. President in 1861.
The Lincoln Bible has been used for three previous inaugurations. Former President Barack Obama took the oath on this Bible twice, while Donald Trump used it during his first term as president.
It is important to note that in the presidential election held on 6th November, Donald Trump was re-elected as the President of the United States.
Trump won in 27 states, including Eastern Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia, while Kamala Harris claimed victory in 19 states.
In the U.S. presidential election, out of 538 electoral votes, Republican candidate Donald Trump secured 277 votes, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris received 226 electoral votes. Any candidate needed at least 270 electoral votes out of the total of 538 to win the presidency.
