Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his willingness to engage with all stakeholders for the country’s economic development during a ceremony at the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in Karachi on Wednesday. He congratulated PSX for its outstanding performance in 2024 and noted that Pakistan’s economy is improving steadily.
“It is an honor for me to visit the PSX today,” Shehbaz said, emphasizing the government’s primary objective of transforming macroeconomic stability into sustainable economic growth. He also commended the recently launched ‘Uraan Pakistan’ initiative.
The prime minister announced plans to collaborate with financial experts from Karachi and other cities to develop strategies for economic progress. He expressed hope for actionable proposals to implement an export-led growth agenda and utilize the nation’s natural resources effectively.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to transparency, Shehbaz Sharif assured that the privatization process would be conducted with utmost fairness. He also shared the government’s aim to reduce the interest rate to 6% to encourage investment.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
