SHANGLA: The district education department Shangla has launched enrollment campaign in the district, during the enrollment campaign out of schools children will be enrolled in the primary schools.
The enrollment campaign was launched here at a ceremony held Government Primary School Alpuri, No, 1 at district headquarters on Tuesday, where deputy commissioner Shangla Fayaz Sherpaw was chief guest. District education officer (Male) Muhammad Ameen and (Female) Parven Rehman, ADC, SDOs, LG members, village secretaries, PTC office bearers, teachers, civil society members and parents were in attendance. An awareness walk was also carried out in this regard in which the participants marched in the different streets of Alpuri to create awareness about the education and enrollment campaign among the public.
While, Addressing the campaign launching ceremony, DC Shangla Fayaz Sherpaw, urged the local people to end discrimination between the girls and boys and must enroll their girl children under age 5-7 in the nearby primary school, because girls could bring development revaluation in the district through education.
He asked village secretaries, revenue officials to cooperate with the education department in their respective areas and identify out of school children and get them enrolled in the respective primary schools.
DC assured the education department all sort of support in the enrollment campaign, while stressed on LG members and parents to play their role in enrollment campaign and enroll more and more children in the schools.
DEO, Muhammad Ameen, said, although Shangla is improving in the education but need more work with a passion because progress of the areas is possible with only education.
He claimed that government had brought reforms in the education and providing facilities in government schools, especially provision of books and improvements.
“There is a high number of out of school children in the district, they all should be enrolled in the schools for which they have set a target of 12000 children to be enrolled in this campaign,” the DEO added.
DEO, Female, Parveen Rehman appealed the Shangla local people to come out and enroll their girls out of schools, because the ratio of girl education in the district is still regretful, only 17000 girls are enrolled comparatively the boys which number is about 100,000.
She said, as per ratio they have set a target of 1700 girls enrollment in the current drive.
Girls students on the occasion presented speeches and poems on the occasion and got applause from the audience, whereas the DC Shangla enrolled four children, two girls and two boys on the occasion, while books handed them over while formally launching the enrollment in the district
