Palestinian State Remains Bedrock of Pakistan’s Middle East Policy: PM Shehbaz Sharif Reaffirms Commitment Post-Gaza Summit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed that the establishment of a strong and viable Palestinian state with pre-1967 borders and Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital remains the cornerstone of Pakistan’s Middle East policy. In a post on X while returning from the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, he emphasized that the Palestinian people’s freedom, dignity, and prosperity are a primary concern for Islamabad. The summit, hailed as “potentially transformational,” focused on immediate ceasefire in Gaza and ending what Sharif called the “genocidal campaign.”
Sharif expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for delivering on promises to halt the bloodshed, praising his “unique contribution” to peace. He highlighted Pakistan’s role alongside Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in facilitating dialogue. The event underscored Pakistan’s enduring solidarity with Palestinians, drawing praise from world leaders. Analysts see this as a diplomatic win amid regional tensions, reinforcing Islamabad’s principled stance on the issue. Social media buzzed with support, amplifying calls for global action.
