SHANGLA: Shangla police have arrested 10 proclaimed offenders and 1627 suspects in the premises of various police stations where conducted raids in the month of March, also 92 cases registered against the section 144 violators during the current Covid-19 outbreak.
The district police officer, Shangla, Malak Ihjaz had issued the monthly progress report here on Friday which said Shangla police arrested 10 proclaimed offenders and 1627 suspects who were wanted to police in different crimes.
It said, the raids were conducted in the premises of different police stations throughout the month of March, while arms and ammunition were also recovered from the suspects and POs.
The statement said 92 men were arrested by the police in different parts of the district who had violated the section 144 of CrPc, which is imposed in the district amid Coronavirus outbreak.
It said, 10.12KG hashish, 10 Kalashnikov, 18 Rifles, 78 guns, 156 Pistols, 6646 cartridges, 3.560KG explosive and 72 timbers had been recovered from the POs and suspects during the month long actions.
Meanwhile, DPO Shangla distributed personal protective kits among the health staff of district headquarters hospital, Alpuri as the major facility had been facing shortage of PPEs.
DPO Malak Ihjaz, handed over the PPEs to the hospital medical superintendent, Doctor Shafiul-Mulk and DMS Doctor Salahuddin at the facility.
DPO provided the facility with safety kits consisting on gowns, gloves, hand sanitizers and face masks.
DPO on the occasion told media persons that it was a dire need of the hospital as the facility crew struggling against the deadly disease while putting their lives at risk but their safety was also imperative.
He said, they would be safe at the isolation and quarantine centers when they wore the PPEs while dealing the Covid-19 patients.
