Government’s 35% TTS promise falls short.

Islamabad, July 13: Concerns are mounting among public sector employees after the government’s promised 35 percent Time Scale (TTS) benefit reportedly fell short of expectations, prompting criticism from workers’ representatives who say the implementation does not reflect the assurances previously made.

Employee unions argue that while the government announced measures aimed at improving salaries and career progression, the actual benefits received by many workers have been significantly lower than anticipated. They claim inconsistencies in the application of the policy have left employees dissatisfied and uncertain about their financial future.

Officials maintain that the Time Scale policy was introduced to provide relief and recognize employees’ years of service. However, they acknowledge that implementation varies across departments due to administrative procedures, budgetary constraints, and differing service rules.

Representatives of government employees have called for greater transparency in the policy’s execution, urging authorities to issue clear guidelines and ensure uniform application across all eligible departments. They also demanded dialogue with policymakers to address concerns and eliminate disparities affecting workers.

Economic analysts note that fulfilling salary-related commitments is crucial for maintaining employee morale and improving the efficiency of public institutions. They warn that prolonged uncertainty over compensation policies could impact productivity and public service delivery.

The government has indicated that it is reviewing feedback from stakeholders and remains committed to addressing implementation challenges. As discussions continue, employees hope the authorities will revisit the policy to ensure that the promised benefits are delivered fairly and consistently across the public sector.
