Five terrorists neutralised in Op Shaban.

Peshawar, July 13: Security forces successfully neutralised five terrorists during Operation Shaban, a targeted counterterrorism mission carried out in a remote area following intelligence reports of militant activity. The operation was launched after security agencies received credible information regarding the presence of armed militants planning attacks in the region.

According to official sources, troops surrounded the suspected hideout before engaging the terrorists in an intense exchange of fire. All five militants were killed during the operation, while security personnel secured the area and recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and communication equipment believed to have been used for planning future attacks.

Military officials stated that the operation forms part of ongoing nationwide efforts to eliminate terrorist networks and ensure the safety of local communities. Search and clearance operations continued in the surrounding areas to verify that no additional militants remained in the vicinity.

Authorities praised the professionalism and coordination displayed by the security forces, reaffirming their commitment to dismantling militant infrastructure and maintaining peace. Officials added that intelligence-based operations will continue across the country to prevent extremist groups from regrouping.

Local residents welcomed the successful operation, expressing hope that sustained security measures would contribute to lasting stability and create a safer environment for economic activity and community life.

Security analysts described Operation Shaban as another significant step in Pakistan’s broader counterterrorism strategy, noting that continued intelligence gathering, public cooperation, and swift operational responses remain essential in combating the threat of militancy and safeguarding national security.
