SHANGLA: A teenage mentally-ill girl was sexually assaulted by her neighbor at Dholu area of Dehrai in Alpuri tehsil the other day, however police arrested the suspect following the victim’s father complaint.
The station house officer SHO Fazal Elahi told The Northern Post on Monday that the victim’s father came to the police station the other day along with his daughter aged 13/14 stated that his daughter apparently mentally disorder was sexually assaulted by his neighbor shopkeeper Umar Zaman at an empty house at Dholu area of Dehrai.
SHO said they had recorded the victim’s father statement and registered a case under section 376 of Pakistan penal code and following registration of FIR conducted a raid at the village and arrested the suspect Umar Zaman.
He said the victim’s father stated in the FIR that the alleged suspect had given Rs 50 to her and took her to an empty house where he had sexually abused her.
SHO said that the medical report had also proved that the mentally abnormal girl was sexually assaulted, however the suspect was produced before the session judge at Alpuri and sent to prison and further interrogation continued.
