SHANGLA: The mass drive for eradication of the probable Crimean Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) commonly known as Congo Fever has completed in Shangla.
The concluding ceremony was held in Chakesar, Shangla, which was attended by Assistant Commissioner, Chakesar, Muhammad Anwar, officers, and field staff of the Livestock Department.
Monitoring Officer Doctor Shaukat Hayat, on the occasion, told the media persons that keeping in view the Congo fever fatalities recorded in the past few years, Livestock Department Shangla has completed the Congo Fever causing ticks eradication campaign which was launched a month ago.
In the recent campaign more than half-million animals including cattle, buffaloes, sheep and goats were sprayed and injected against the Congo fever causative ticks through door-to-door approach and through the establishment of Spray Points on the three main entry points of the Shangla (Shangla Top, Dandai and Jambal) and in the tehsil wise cattle mandis.
He said, the services had been provided free of cost under the annual development Program’s scheme “Control of Livestock Diseases of Economic Importance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”.
AC Muhammad Anwar, appreciated the efforts made by the livestock department Shangla for the well being of human health and safety of precious lives.
He assured to extend full support of the District Administration to Livestock department in all the public friendly and welfare interventions.
