SHANGLA: Shangla forest and watershed departments have launched Tiger Force tree plantation drive here on Sunday across the district.
Like the other parts of the country as the day observed Tiger Force plantation drive in Rural-Urban areas, the drive launched in Shangla district and plantation events held in every corner of the Shangla.
A major event was held at Bisham Maira, where the minister for labour and culture Shaukat Yousafzai was chief guest, deputy commissioner, Shangla Imran Hussain Ranjha, assistant commissioner, Bisham Khuram Rehman, divisional forest officer, Shangla, Tariq Khadim, sub-divisional forest officer, Zahid Hussain, and Tiger Force members were present.
Including minister, participants of the event planted saplings on the occasion.
While speaking media persons, minister Shaukat Yousafzai said that their main objective of plantation across the country was to make the country safe from climate change.
He said, the plants to be planted in every part of the district by the Tiger Force and he appreciate the volunteers for such efforts.
Zahid Hussain, SDFO, said that 50,000 plants to be planted during the campaign across the district by the forest department and Tiger Force volunteers would also take part in, similarly, Kohistan watershed division had also set a target of plantation in Shangla.
