Islamabad, July 10: Pakistan and Bangladesh have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in combating cybercrime and online fraud, marking a significant step toward improving digital security and protecting citizens from emerging cyber threats.
The understanding was reached during high-level discussions between officials of both countries, where participants emphasized the growing need for regional collaboration to address the increasing challenges posed by cybercriminals. With online scams, financial fraud, identity theft, and digital attacks becoming more sophisticated, both sides acknowledged that no country can effectively tackle these threats in isolation.
During the meeting, officials discussed measures to enhance information sharing, improve coordination between law enforcement agencies, and exchange technical expertise in cyber investigations. They also explored opportunities for joint training programs, capacity building, and the adoption of modern technologies to strengthen cybersecurity infrastructure.
Representatives from both nations reaffirmed their commitment to protecting individuals, businesses, and government institutions from cyber threats. They stressed that stronger cooperation would not only improve the investigation of cross-border cybercrimes but also help create a safer digital environment for millions of internet users.
The meeting concluded with both countries expressing confidence that sustained collaboration and regular dialogue would strengthen their ability to combat cybercrime and online fraud. Officials described the initiative as an important milestone in expanding Pakistan–Bangladesh relations while promoting regional digital security and trust.
