Following the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has also voiced concerns about a looming constitutional breakdown. In a recent appearance on Geo News’ “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath,” senior PTI leader Hamid Khan accused the government of pushing the country towards a crisis by opposing a Supreme Court verdict favoring PTI’s claim to reserved seats in parliament. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif echoed these concerns, suggesting a “constitutional meltdown” was imminent, though he ruled out martial law. Amidst this political turmoil, Asif admitted the PML-N-led government’s move to ban the PTI was premature and emphasized the need for consensus among allies. The defense minister also warned of significant actions to preserve the current government setup.
