MUZAFFARABAD: As Azad Jammu and Kashmir heads to the ballot box, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) has made a passionate appeal to citizens: step out, vote, and strengthen democracy.
Calling voter participation the cornerstone of a transparent and representative electoral process, the CEC urged all eligible voters to exercise their constitutional right without fear or hesitation. The appeal comes as polling continues across the region under heightened security and close monitoring by election officials.
The Election Commission has assured the public that comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful, free, and fair elections. Security personnel have been deployed at polling stations, while election staff remain on duty to facilitate voters and address any issues that may arise during the polling process.
Emphasizing the importance of every vote, the CEC said that active public participation is essential for electing capable local representatives who can effectively address community needs and drive development at the grassroots level.
The Commission also urged voters to cooperate with polling staff, follow electoral guidelines, and maintain order at polling stations throughout the day. Citizens were encouraged to avoid misinformation and rely only on official announcements regarding the electoral process.
With thousands of voters expected to cast their ballots, election authorities remain optimistic that the democratic exercise will conclude peacefully, reinforcing public confidence in the electoral system and paving the way for stronger local governance in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
